Kalighat Kali Temple
Kalighat Kali Temple in Kolkata is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Goddess Kali who is one of the main deities worshipped in West Bengal, India. Kalighat Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of Goddess Shakthi(Ma Kali). Kalighat represents the spot where the right toe of the Goddess fell. Kali is considered as the destroyer or rescuer and is portrayed in a fearful form. One of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations of India, the Kalighat Kali Temple draws numerous devotees throughout the year.

Important Festivals
Ceremonial bath is given to mother on snanyatra day. During the time, priests tie their eyes with cloth. The temple is crowded during Kali Puja, Durga Puja, Poila Boishakh, the Bengali New Year day and Sankranti.

Birla Planetarium
The Birla Planetarium in Kolkata is a single-storeyed circular
structure designed in the typical Indian style, whose architecture is
loosely styled on the Buddhist stupa at Sanchi.
Situated at Chowringhee Road adjacent to the Victoria Memorial, St
Paul's Cathedral, and the maidan in south Kolkata, it is the largest
planetarium in Asia and the second largest planetarium in the world. There are two other Birla Planetariums in India: B.M. Birla Planetarium in Chennai and the Birla Planetarium in Hyderabad.
Popularly known as taramandal, the planetarium was inaugurated in 1963 by the then Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. It has an electronics laboratory for design and fabrication of science equipment. It has an astronomy gallery that maintains a huge collection of fine paintings and celestial models of renowned astronomers. The Planetarium also has an astronomical observatory equipped with a Celestron C-14 Telescope with accessories such as ST6 CCD camera and solar filter. It offers to the public and students more than 100 astronomical projects dealing with various facts of astronomy, astro-physics, Space Science as well as myths concerning stars and planets. It has a capacity of 500.
Daily programs are conducted in English, Bengali and Hindi from 12:00 to 19:00 hrs.

Eden Gardens
Eden Gardens is a cricket ground in Kolkata, India. It is the

Vidyasagar Setu
Vidyasagar Setu a golden Gate Bridge look alike, 2kms downriver, was
completed in 1994. It is a modern day engineering marvel and is the
largest cable stayed bridge in Asia. The bridge connects the twin cities
of Kolkata and Howrah. It was built at a cost of Rs. 388 crores.
Unfortunately it is not making the big difference that was envisaged, as
the approaches are too narrow to to handle the amount of traffic that
use bridge, and plans for widening the road are slow in implementation.
Pareshnath Jain Temple
Pareshnath Jain Temple, KolkataThis temple, in the north-east of the
city, was built in 1867 and dedicated to Sheetalnathji, the 10th of the
24 Jain tirthankars. The temple is an ornate mass of mirrors, coloured
stones and glass mosaics. It overlooks a garden, and is open daily from 6
to 11.30 am and 3 to 7 pm.

Whenever you go to Nakhoda Mosque in Kolkata you must visit
Sinduraipatty where there is Hafiz Jalaluddin Mosque. Karbala Masjid at
Manicktola, built by the Nawabs of Murshidabad should not be missed. The
13 mosques constructed by the descendants of Tipu Sultan should also be
noted. Out of these, the mosque known as Tipu Sultan Mosque at
Dharmatalla Street, made by prince Gulam Mohammad is very popular.
You can visit Nakhoda Mosque of Kolkata between 6.00 am to 8.00 pm. There is no entry fee required.

Mother House of the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta.
The Mother House of the Missionaries of Charity,
located at 54A, A.J.C. Bose Road, Calcutta, is the headquarters of the
international religious congregation of the Missionaries of Charity. It
has been home to Mother Teresa and her sisters from February 1953 to
the present day. It is here that Mother lived, prayed, worked, and
guided her religious family of sisters spread across the world. It is
here that her body was laid to rest.
